Penfold’s wine training

Chillaxing at home now. Today I webt ti Penfold’s training. I really find it a privilege to be taught so much about wines, whiskeys, champagne etc.

To challenge the palate is something new but not foreign. So i’m very openminded to absorbe it all.

Amongst many different wines, we were also able to try the Pebfold’s Grange 95!
Funny, cause one of my staff poured the content of his spitting cup in the decanter!! Shock!! Luckily they were nice about it and had another bottle. Talk about embarrassing!! Haha

A general morning

Thought I could snap photos and kinda share what I do mostly every morning; my route to work with the bus.
I have great public transport just outside my apartment. The buses comes pretty frequently, but it’s not after a timetable like in Stockholm with the precise time of arrival. It has an approximate time of how long it’s between each bus. However, some busstops and there are even some apps that allows you to see when the next bus is coming.
I don’t find that too troublesome. However, it takes quite long to travel with bus. Not sure if it’s because of the trafic or the many stops or a mixture or them both, but a trip that normally takes 10min with car will take 30 min with bus sometimes.
I travel with two different buses to get to the office which is slightly on the westside and is a bit far for me. In the morning it takes a bit more than an hour to get to the office, without any feeling of traffic jam. I catch the bus before the traffic gets heavy, which is why I’m always one of the first 3 at work. Today I even arrived first, which meant that I had to wait for someone to open the door to the office..hehe
Anyway, travelling home with the same buses takes 30 min more than in the evening..yeah..traffic jams!

It’s a nice route to work though so I’m still enjoying it.

In the bus, ahead is the Marina Bay Sands

This is the Esplanade, also known as the Durian. That’s where I saw the Swanlake ballett

Forgot, but the art museum or something hehe. It’s pretty big and stretches for like 2 blocks..

The buildings on the right side and stretching for like 2-3 blocks on both sides is the SMU – Singapore Management University. Many exchange students go here, especially swedish ones.

I will always wonder how and why they came up with that signage/logo..doesn’t make sense. If it do to you, please explain to me.. ;)

Nice right?

The company I work at is very young, in mind and attitude more than anything. I really appreciate the inspirational and refreshing inputs around the office. A lot about the environment makes it feel breezy and open. Great place for great ideas to form and inspiration to flow? I think it’s a great start anyways ;)

What kind of workenvironment motivates you?

It’s real

Work today has been busy, but good. Managed to get stuff done, tied up the bags and organized stuff.
Been interviewing, for urgent and upcoming promotions while trying to finalize the last stages for current ones.
We’re also in need of re-organization. Too much data to not have a proper system and protocol for. Filing is a serious business, don’t underestimate the work that goes into it!

It all starts to feel really real. Almost one month of work and things finally have sunken in enough for me to feel like i can evaluate and assess the situation. Feels good to feel the control growing stronger in me.

Going to rest, have been a rough week so far and i’m only half way through it! Full day of work on saturday awaits this week. :)

Monday blues

Today hasn’t been a very good day..

Despite that, I see the blessings in it..it means that I’m comfortable enough to see the obstacles, it means that I’m being challenged..it means that I can grow from here. It also means that I’m experiencing the “normal” part of life here now.

Politics..I’ve always been really bad with it..awkward and without a good sense. I rather have it bluntly but open. I’m often not sure how to beat around the bush or how to tackle a sensitive issue..

As soon as I left the office, it started raining..and I normally always carry my umbrella..but I forgot it at home this morning..great..!

Got on the bus and it stopped raining..When I arrived and got off the bus..guess what..it started raining again..haha..yes..I’m laughing..there’s nothing more to do about it. I can get more upset or grumpy, but it won’t change anything..so why not just enjoy the rain..so close to home anyway..it doesn’t hurt to get rained on right?

Ken is leaving Singapore for a while. I’ll surely miss my foodie friend..but excited for his journey.

On the upper deck of the bus on my way home..

P.S   B is the best!! Thank you for sending me my meds!! I’ve received the package! muah!
