Wala Wala

Felt really lazy yesterday so I wasn’t up for partying although my girlies were going to Avalon, which I haven’t been to and really want to check out.

I allowed my body to dominate and met up with other friends for drinks.

Luckily I was able to check out another new area; Holland Village.

I haven’t been in that area, but heard that there are plenty of bars and restaurants there. One of them, more popular venue is Wala Wala.

Spent the first half of the evening at the entrance floor having drinks and a bit of bar food. Not very impressive…talking about drinks now. Ordered a vodka lime and got a glass filled with lime cordial..extremely sweet! I’d normally like it when they use lime juice..but well well. I couldn’t even finish the drink haha.

Half of the group left so the rest of us went downstairs to the live music floor. LOVE!

It was a casual place with bar tables, live music was great. The band was great and very entertaining. I tried recording, but it’s too blurry so I can’t post it…=(

We stayed until closing time and then I went home.

Was suppose to go to Sentosa and chill with friends..I think majority of my friends are there now haha..I’m such a geek!

I need to work..research, apply to jobs, blog, study, write article etc..so I need to do this..cause later this evening, it’s time for Argentine tango lesson time! YAY! =)

Oh, I’ll also try to create more videos..I have gotten the iMovie app on my iPhone now and is suppose to be very easy to edit simple movies..can’t wait to try it out! Maybe I get to try it tonight ;)

I need to take more photos of stuff other than food hehe

OK, time to get busy!

Have a great sunday!

Hawker food at East Coast

The other day I went with a friend to a Hawker food center, on the east coast. Hawker food is like a center with different food stalls of more authentic food, similar to street food.

It was my first time experiencing it and it was really nice and cozy..super casual and heaps of food to choose between.

I haven’t been in asia much, but in Singapore you don’t really get “street” food, maybe because of the littering law. I guess that’s why there are Hawker food center like this and they pretty much exist everywhere, anywhere.

Two girls, this our table…

Fried oysters and egg

Satay freshly off the grill

BBQ stingray, first time trying it. White fish, the meat is stringy, but still very soft and juicy. Very nice.

Carrot pancake with chilli

In singapore we call it Bong Kong? haha, I don’t remember, but something like that.

What most people have, sugar cane drink, I had with lemon juice in it

And at the end, the traditional dessert. Forgot what it’s called, but it’s something in the bottom of the bowl, then a huge ball of shaved ice with syrup (the red one is rose and the other is brown sugar) topped with mango sauce and condensed milk. This thing was HUGE! Very sweet, but quite nice. I dug into the center from the bottom since I knew i wouldn’t finish it but still didn’t want to miss out on the “surprise” inside.

It was nice, but very oily and salty. Nice to have every now and then, definitely not something to have every day for a long period of time. Not for me anyways. Next time I’ll probably just have the congee..can’t make that one too oily or salty right? Not if I take the plain one ;)
